The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course at DPM Diving in Gili Trawangan teaches certified divers how to recognise, prevent and respond to dive stress and emergencies. The programme runs over three days and is the standard SSI specialty after the Advanced Adventurer course; together with React Right, it is the prerequisite training for the SSI Divemaster programme. Day 1 starts with a theory class on stress in diving — causes, prevention, early detection and management — followed by a pool skills circuit covering self-rescue, controlled emergency ascents and techniques for assisting a distressed or unconscious diver at the surface and underwater.
Days 2 and 3 consist of four open-water scenario dives during which the instructor stages realistic emergency situations for the student to assess and resolve end-to-end. A written exam at the end of the course confirms the theoretical knowledge. The 6,400,000 IDR price includes all course sessions, a professional SSI instructor, full dive gear during the in-water sessions and dive insurance.
Prerequisites: a valid Advanced Adventurer (or Advanced Open Water) certification plus a current React Right or equivalent first aid certification (taught in-house at DPM as a standalone or as a bundle). A one-time National Marine Park Fee of 100,000 IDR is paid separately in cash. Bookings via WhatsApp.
