The SSI Open Water Diver course at DPM Diving in Gili Trawangan is the first full scuba certification, qualifying divers to dive independently with a certified buddy to 18 metres worldwide. The course runs over three days, results in a digital lifetime certification registered internationally, and is open to beginners with no prior diving experience. The course covers three components: SSI digital theory (MyDiveGuide self-paced reading and knowledge reviews before and during the course), confined-water skill sessions in shallow water (mask clearing and replacement, regulator recovery, neutral buoyancy, controlled emergency ascents and out-of-air procedures) and four open-water dives around Gili Trawangan.
The island sits off the northwest coast of Lombok with warm clear water suited to entry-level training. A written multiple-choice exam at the end of the course completes the certification. The 6,400,000 IDR fee includes the SSI Open Water international lifetime certification, full dive gear (wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask, fins), a professional SSI instructor, dive insurance and snacks on board.
A standard SSI medical questionnaire is completed before water entry. A one-time National Marine Park Fee of 100,000 IDR applies in cash on the first day; it is valid for unlimited subsequent dives at the location during your stay. Bookings via WhatsApp.
