SSI Deep Diving extends recreational depth to 40 metres through four open-water sessions in Gili Trawangan. Theory and one fun dive are included with instructor supervision.

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty at DPM Diving in Gili Trawangan trains certified divers to plan and execute dives to depths between 18 and 40 metres — the recreational maximum. The programme combines academic sessions on deep dive theory with four open-water dives, one of which counts as a recreational fun dive once the certification skills have been demonstrated. The theory covers dive planning at depth, nitrogen narcosis awareness and management, gas consumption calculations (adjusted for the increased breathing rate at depth) and the correct use of dive computers in deeper profiles, including no-decompression limits and the safety stop.
The four dives give practical experience at progressively deeper depths with the instructor reviewing technique, gas planning and ascent procedures after each dive. On completion you receive the SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification, internationally recognised and valid for life. It is also a prerequisite for several advanced training programmes within SSI.
The 4,190,000 IDR fee includes the certification, full dive gear, theory and the four dives. A standard SSI medical questionnaire is completed before water entry; participants with pre-existing cardiac or respiratory conditions should seek medical advice before diving beyond 30 metres. A one-time National Marine Park Fee of 100,000 IDR applies in cash.
