SSI React Right Provider and SSI Diver Stress & Rescue

The React Right + Rescue programme at DPM Diving in Koh Tao combines two SSI specialty courses: React Right (first aid and CPR) and Diver Stress and Rescue. Together they form the rescue-level training recognised as a prerequisite for the SSI Divemaster programme and as the equivalent of the PADI Rescue Diver certification. The course runs over two days.

Day 1 begins with a theory class on stress in diving — causes, prevention and early detection — followed by a pool skills circuit covering self-rescue, emergency ascents and assisting a distressed or unconscious diver. Days 2 and 3 involve four open-water scenario dives in which the instructor stages rescue situations for the student to assess and resolve under realistic conditions. The React Right component covers Primary Assessment, First Aid and CPR Skills, Primary Stabilization Techniques, Oxygen Administration in Diving Emergencies and Automated External Defibrillation basics.

The React Right certification is valid for two years and must be renewed to maintain active status. Price: 12,600 THB. Prerequisites: Advanced Adventurer or Advanced Open Water certification and a current React Right or equivalent first aid certification (the React Right component of this programme satisfies that requirement when taken as a bundle).

A standard SSI medical form is required before the water sessions. Bookings via WhatsApp.
