The Try Scuba Diving programme at DPM Diving in Koh Tao is a one-day introductory experience for anyone who has never dived before and wants to try scuba without committing to a full certification course. No prior diving experience is required. The programme starts at 8:30am with a short classroom session covering the basics of scuba equipment and the safety rules you need before entering the water.
You then head out on the boat for two dives in the Gulf of Thailand. A professional instructor accompanies you throughout both dives, guiding you through equalisation, breathing technique and simple underwater movement. The programme finishes around 4:30pm.
The price of 3,600 THB covers the programme, a professional dive instructor and all diving equipment. A standard medical questionnaire is completed before the session. Participants with pre-existing cardiac or respiratory conditions should consult a doctor before joining any in-water activity, as required by SSI guidelines.
