The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty at DPM Diving in Nusa Penida teaches divers to plan and conduct dives using enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. In Nusa Penida, where multiple dives per day are common and several sites involve deeper profiles, Nitrox provides meaningful extension of no-decompression limits at moderate depths and reduced surface intervals between consecutive dives — a practical advantage on full diving days and back-to-back trips at the centre. The course covers theory on oxygen toxicity limits and the maximum operating depth for each mix, gas analysis with an oxygen analyser before every dive, dive planning with enriched air, and the use of dive computers switched to Nitrox mode for accurate no-deco tracking.
Two open-water dives using Nitrox are included as part of the course, with the analyser checked together with the instructor before each dive. A written exam at the end of the course confirms the theoretical knowledge. On completion you receive the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification, internationally recognised and valid for life.
The price of 3,600,000 IDR covers the course, two Nitrox dives and all dive equipment. Prerequisites: a valid Open Water Diver certification or higher from any recognised agency. A standard SSI medical questionnaire is completed before the water sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nitrox useful for diving in Nusa Penida?
Yes. Nusa Penida is a multi-dive-per-day destination where bottom time accumulates across morning and afternoon boats. Nitrox extends no-decompression limits at depths of 18-30 metres — the range used at sites such as Manta Point and Toyapakeh. The SSI Nitrox Specialty at DPM covers 32% and 40% enriched air options.
