The SSI Advanced course at DPM Diving in Nusa Penida is a two-day programme that takes Open Water-certified divers to a maximum depth of 30 metres. The course covers five adventure dives: Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, Deep Dive, Fish ID and Waves, Tides and Currents. No theory class or written exam is required — the course is entirely practical and built around in-water performance.
The Nusa Penida environment makes the Advanced course particularly relevant: the island is surrounded by strong oceanic currents and the Waves, Tides and Currents dive provides practical training in reading conditions, drift diving and managing current. The Deep Dive reaches 30 metres with planning for gas consumption and narcosis awareness at depth. Fish ID is conducted at a reef site within the standard rotation, while Perfect Buoyancy refines trim and air consumption.
Prerequisites: a valid Open Water Diver certification from any recognised agency. The price of 5,500,000 IDR includes all dive equipment, the SSI Advanced Adventurer certification, five dives, snacks on board and shower and towel service. A standard SSI medical questionnaire is completed before the course.
Participants with pre-existing cardiac or respiratory conditions should seek medical clearance before diving to 30 metres. Bookings via WhatsApp.
